We are looking for hosts who are interested in the fantastic experience of opening up their homes to students from outside of the UK.

This is a great experience for students who come here to learn English and share their culture with you. It is also a great opportunity for them to learn local phrases, dialects and UK culture by immersing themselves in your warm and welcoming home.

Hosting students can be very rewarding where long and enduring friendships are formed, you can represent your community on a world stage and it is a good way of forming international connections.

Our accommodation officer will ensure that the host and students suit each other. Hosts are regularly inspected and we have to ensure that they have the necessary documentation, safety certificates and procedures in place. We generally require gas certificates, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, fire safety check and a DBS if looking after children under 18.

A warm and friendly welcome followed by a clean, comfortable, well-lit room with ventilation, heating, a wardrobe, desk, TV and Wifi access. Bed linen and towels which should be cleaned by the host on a weekly basis and regular access to the bathroom as per a member of your family along with the use of a washing machine once a week. A key or access to your home at any time needs to be provided. Breakfast and dinner is a requirement along with the student eating with the host family.

Children under the age of 18 should be given assistance to find their way to school on their first day.
