If you feel that you, or anyone of your classmates is worried, unhappy, upset, or treated badly, speak to any staff member you feel comfortable with. We will listen to you and will try to help.

 

What is bullying:

Bullying is a behaviour that frightens other people and makes them upset, nervous or worried.

 

Bullying can be:

• Physical: hitting, kicking, theft

• Verbal: name-calling, racist comments

• Indirect: spreading rumours, excluding someone from social groups, giving dirty looks

• Cyber: threats by text messaging, misusing internet sites, e-mails, chat rooms, videos or cameras

 

Examples of bullying:

• Racial - based on the students colour, ethnic origin, culture, faith community, national origin or national status

• Homophobic - bullied because of sexuality

• Bullying based on disability, ability, gender, appearance or circumstance

• Sexual - unwanted physical contact or sexually abusive comments

 

Bullying makes people feel unsafe and unhappy, and can have a serious impact on a student. For this reason, we respond to bullying issues quickly by following the four steps as described in the Expulsion Policy.
